Rodolfo Padilla Sunseri was the mayor of San Pedro Sula, Cortes, Honduras.
I am under the understanding that he holds US citizenship. A neighbor told me he was born in Boston. However, others say he is a naturalized citizen in the US. He has escaped to the US and is currently in Miami, Florida.
Rodolfo Padilla Sunseri is wanted for corruption and theft in Honduras. He is being investigated for paying a company for cleaning services that did not exist...in other words he invented a company to pay in order to steal government funds.
You cannot hold any foreign office that would entitle you to diplomatic immunity in the US or that you have to be elected to without losing your US citizenship. Upon taking that office you automatically revoke your US citizenship.
So my question is why is the Department of State asleep at the wheel? They let a former US citizen into the US who held a foreign office and didn´t require him to go through the proper immigration channels?
